Week 7: Futurology

Image
Week 7: Futurology Date: 21 November. This week, we looked at the journey of ever evolving world of technology. Futurology is the interdisciplinary study and speculation about future possibilities, trends and progress in various fields such as technology, science, sociology and economics. It involves analysing current data, extrapolating potential outcomes, and exploring hypothetical scenarios to predict how society and technology may evolve. Futurists use a combination of quantitative analysis, qualitative assessment, and speculative thinking to make informed predictions about the future. This field aims to help individuals, organizations and policy makers navigate and prepare for upcoming challenges and opportunities by envisioning potential developments that may shape our world. A basic example of futurological thinking is Moore's Law that is it  predicts that the number of transistors that can be placed on an integrated circuit (IC) doubles approximately every two years. I...

Week 5 and 6: Sensors and Actuators

Week 5 and 6: Sensors and Actuators. Date: 21 November. In week 5 and 6 lab, we used different sensors to detect environmental changes like variation in temperature and light. First we were introduced with servo motors. we connected it to the microcontroller kit and the power source. The connections were bit complicated for which I have used and taken help from internet sources to fix the connection and properly in servo pin 9. Secondly, we used an  ultrasonic sensor which is a device that uses sound waves to measure distance. In an Arduino Uno setup, an ultrasonic sensor typically includes a transmitter that sends out ultrasonic pulses and a receiver that listens for the echoes when those pulses bounce back from an object.

Short Story

Excel to futuristic model of  cars     In the year 2035, Jake found himself standing in front of a car showroom, the air buzzing with excitement as the latest futuristic models gleamed under the showroom lights. As he approached, a holographic sales assistant materialized, ready to showcase the marvels of the Quantum Drive X1.     Jake: This car looks like it's from another dimension. What's the deal with the Quantum Drive X1?     Holo-Sales Assistant: Greetings, Jake. The Quantum Drive X1 is not just a car; it's a leap into the future. It's powered by quantum particles, allowing for unprecedented speed and efficiency.     Jake: Quantum particles? You mean like time travel or something?     Holo-Sales Assistant: Not time travel, but space manipulation. It creates a quantum tunnel, bending space to cover vast distances almost instantaneously .     Jake: (whistles) That sounds like science fiction. But what a...
